This year, Queen City Cabaret has joined the greater Cincinnati arts community in celebrating the #POWEROFHER. In March, that meant teaming up with over 75 volunteers representing 25+ organizations to create a Cincy-inspired music video cover of the 2017 Women’s March anthem, “Quiet” by MILCK.
Now, we’re ready to kick off our third sassy, sizzling, and socially-distant season (on the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, no less!) with another celebration of some of the most inspiring women in our community.
August 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the first group of American women gaining the right to vote through the 19th Amendment. However, it wasn’t until The Voting Rights Act of 1965 that American women of all races were free to exercise that right. On this major anniversary in our voting rights history, we celebrate how far we’ve come, and we continue to fight voter suppression in every form. All proceeds from the festival go to support the Brennan Center for Justice.
Please join us at 7pm, August 19-26, on our blog or Facebook page to celebrate these amazing musicians and help us fight voter suppression!
The festival is free, but donations to the Brennan Center are encouraged!
We hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy, and we look forward to another year of bringing you great music, good cheer, and a whole lot of Queen City love.
Cheers!
