We love this place + its beautiful, creative people, and we need to sing about it.
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve received a Fuel grant that will drive a musical love letter to Cincinnati.
This project involves over 50 people from some of your favorite Queen City groups:
Pones Dance Company
Muse Choir
Young Professionals Choral Collective
Bandmembers from The Perfect Children, Mynah Tones and Heavy Hinges
What will this love letter be, exactly? You may have heard that MILCK has released the rights to her transformative song, Quiet. All of us are getting together to record this song in honor of International Women’s Day, 2020. We’ve got a crew together to document and edit (Bill Brandenburgh + Brandenburgh Productions)…
...but here’s the thing.
We want it to be epic.
We want: soaring shots of the Roebling Bridge, Music Hall, the ferris wheel, the Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the beautiful ArtsWorks murals we all enjoy.
We want: to show the world that LOVE prevails here in Cincinnati, Ohio.
We want: to come together - lots of people from many different backgrounds - raise our voices to the world, and say “We are here. THIS is who we are.”
We want: to spread some hope, and joy. This is sorely needed right now.
This is where you come in.
We have a great start. The music’s ordered, and rehearsals start on December 21.
However - we’d like to beef up our crew a bit, and have the resources necessary to get all those breathtaking shots, and the audio takes to present our best selves.
Like we said, we want to make it epic. Your help will take this from “nice” to gut-punch, frog-in-our-throats, I’m-not-crying-YOU’RE-crying GOOD.
The release date is on Women’s Day—March 8, 2020, in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, through which the first wave of women obtained the right to vote, with all women gaining the right through the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
With your help, it WILL be epic. Can we count you in?
